Bring the hidden data assumption into the room

01

Which event made the map look new?

Forty-five-minute data-product discussion with a provenance exercise · Data leaders, survey managers and commercial product sponsors

This session begins with a fictional freshness review of 120 road segments. Fifty-six have recent field observations, while sixty-four carry older observations with recent record edits. Lalhmingmawii approved the broader freshness account and later supported a ₹41 lakh correction. Participants distinguish the dates of observation, revision and release, then consider which one the customer needs for the intended decision. The discussion gives proper weight to the commercial appeal of a simple status and the value that older evidence may still retain. It does not prescribe a universal expiry period, certify a road or provide instructions for an actual journey. Survey and operating approvals remain with their owners. The closing exercise asks the group to identify the event behind a familiar date before using it in a quality claim. A better account may require further observation, a narrower offer or clearer explanation; the session does not pretend that changing a field's label produces all three outcomes.

02

The junction that existed only in the flat drawing

Fifty-minute spatial-product workshop using an invented network · Spatial analysts, product owners, survey leaders and enterprise sponsors

Eighty-six selected crossings appear to meet on a flat map, but fourteen are grade-separated without a road connection and seventy-two are actual junctions in the reviewed evidence. This fictional workshop examines why a visually convincing drawing can still encode the wrong network. Participants discuss the ₹53 lakh review and the alternatives of releasing with a broad qualification or removing every crossing. Neither shortcut preserves the actual distinction. The session also separates connection from turn permission, vehicle suitability and current conditions. It supplies no real coordinates or driving instructions, and the selected review does not establish the quality of a wider network. The concluding discussion asks what the enterprise is selling: a reference picture, a planning relationship or a responsibility it cannot itself approve. Participants leave with a product-scope question to take to the relevant technical and commercial owners, rather than a universal software rule to apply without examining their source evidence.

03

What disappeared when the expected end date passed?

Forty-minute data-governance scenario with a moderated status review · Data stewards, service-product teams and risk sponsors

The fictional register in this session contains eighty restriction records: twenty-six temporary and fifty-four continuing. A proposed maintenance rule removes temporary records when their expected end dates pass. Participants examine why an expected date is not the same as confirmation that a condition has changed, and why continuing does not mean permanent. The ₹44 lakh programme separates source status, expected period and subsequent review. The discussion recognises the operating cost of unresolved records and asks how a product can make them manageable without silently asserting that the road has changed. No actual restriction is interpreted and no permission to travel is offered. Qualified owners retain those decisions. The final exercise asks the group to describe what evidence would justify a status transition and who should approve it. The purpose is to make a maintenance rule's meaning visible before a disappearing record becomes an unintended promise to the user of the product.

04

The source we could read but could not include in the release

Forty-five-minute executive data-product briefing · CDOs, commercial leaders, licensing owners and directors

This session uses a fictional review of 120 source items, of which eighty-four permit redistribution under the reviewed terms and thirty-six are limited to internal research. Participants compare the appeal of complete coverage with a narrower licensed product supported by ₹35 lakh of work. The discussion does not supply legal advice or assume that every source agreement has the same conditions. It examines how technical availability can be mistaken for commercial permission and why changing a format does not settle the rights question. Qualified legal and commercial owners retain interpretation and approval. The restricted items may still have legitimate internal value, so the choice is more considered than either selling everything or deleting what cannot be sold. The closing review asks management to compare negotiation, a narrower offer and new evidence before committing to a coverage promise. Directors can scrutinise that enterprise choice without becoming the person who interprets each individual licence.

Short speaker biography

Lalhmingmawii Qezvarthi is a fictional Indian CDO at Tavqelni Route Survey Services in Silchar. She examines observation histories, network relationships and the permitted scope of planning data. Her record includes a freshness approval she had to correct. She keeps survey evidence distinct from road authority, actual access permission and vehicle-use decisions.

Standard speaker biography

Lalhmingmawii Qezvarthi is the fictional CDO of Tavqelni Route Survey Services, a regional survey and licensed planning-data enterprise in Silchar. Raised in Aizawl, she began in geographical research in 2000 and joined Tavqelni in 2012. She leads twenty-three colleagues through four leads within ₹4.1 crore annual authority. Her subjects include observation dates, map connections, restriction status, source rights and entrance records. She works in English, Mizo and Hindi. Extended speaker biography

Lalhmingmawii Qezvarthi is the fictional chief data officer of Tavqelni Route Survey Services in Silchar. The regional enterprise employs 169 people and records ₹62 crore FY2026 revenue: ₹41 crore survey assignments and ₹21 crore licensed planning data. She leads twenty-three colleagues through four leads within ₹4.1 crore annual authority, including data programmes, and has no personal or beneficial equity allocation.

Raised in Aizawl, she completed a geography degree in May 2000 and began at Qezmavri Spatial Research that July. She joined Tavqelni as data quality manager in 2012, became head of data in 2017 and CDO in 2021. Her central lesson comes from a freshness account she approved using record-update dates, although some underlying road observations were older. The correction shaped her approach to the meaning carried by a data field.

She works in English, Mizo and Hindi. Executive presentations are her governance exposure; she holds no statutory directorship and has not registered in the IICA databank. Nineteen days is provisional capacity for an initial board contribution, subject to preparation and the actual opportunity. The fictional enterprise is not a road authority or vehicle-clearance body. Its invented cases provide no real route recommendation, access permission, legal interpretation or independent recognition of the pictured person.

I am interested in data-leadership, advisory and speaking work where a spatial product's evidence and permitted use matter to the enterprise. I am considering a first company-board contribution, with nineteen days provisionally available. I have not registered in the IICA databank and claim no assessment pass or exemption. Executive presentations are my governance exposure so far; I hold no statutory company seat.
