Describe the judgement your board needs

A useful first enquiry would explain what the company sells, where its service promises are difficult to substantiate and why the board wants another perspective now. Please include the ownership context, proposed role, committee expectations and likely annual calendar. I would also need to know about material relationships with Belsori so that conflicts can be examined before either side invests heavily in the discussion. My indicative availability is eighteen days each year for one external appointment, subject to my current board's consent and the actual demands of the role. There is no need to send confidential test results, client contracts or personnel records at this stage. A short account of the board's question and the contribution it hopes I could make would be enough to establish whether a fuller conversation is worthwhile. I would rather discuss a specific need carefully than accept a broad invitation whose responsibilities remain unsettled.
