The copied workspace carried permissions we had not reconsidered
A copied arrangement can preserve a useful structure while carrying permissions that no longer fit. Technology leaders should identify the business decisions hidden inside reuse.
A research assistant can present a source without establishing that the source supports a current answer. The permitted use should follow the evaluation rather than the confidence of the demonstration.
The copied workspace carried permissions we had not reconsidered
I am Arjan Zezqari, CIO of the fictional Vornqemi Thermal Services in Nashik. I approved a reusable customer-workspace pattern because it made new service administration easier. We later found that the pattern carried access assumptions that did not belong with every customer. In a review of 240 documents, forty-eight had been available outside the intended group. Logs showed access to fourteen; the absence of an observed event for the other thirty-four did not prove that no access had occurred. The response cost ₹58 lakh and required qualified security, legal and customer owners alongside my team.
My career began in project-application support in July 1996. I joined Vornqemi in September 2009 and became CIO in January 2022. The company now serves seven industrial clients, employs 310 people and recorded ₹176 crore FY26 service fees. My remit covers thirty-six technology colleagues through four leads, ₹6.8 crore FY2026–27 operating expense and a separate ₹2.7 crore change programme. CEO Rekha Qazrevi leads the enterprise. Yusuf Dorzemi and the qualified technical and operating owners retain engineering and plant decisions. I have neither a statutory seat nor a personal shareholding.
The cases on this site concern the meaning carried by information systems. A peak of fifty-two simultaneous users did not establish the right quantity under a named-user software proposal. An export containing every attachment did not preserve every relationship needed to understand a project. A confident research answer could cite a superseded source. These decisions cost money and left work unfinished. I want a reader to see how I challenged the convenient interpretation, including one I had introduced, while leaving the commercial, legal and technical conclusions with their responsible owners.
A reusable pattern needed a fresh access decision
Forty-eight of 240 reviewed documents had inappropriate availability. Fourteen had logged access and thirty-four had no observed access event; a ₹58 lakh response retained that evidential limit.
The purchasing basis was not the usage peak
The review separated 280 named users from a peak of fifty-two simultaneous users. The ₹46 lakh assessment identified 213 users needing the paid tier and sixty-seven with another approved route.
A complete file count did not complete the transfer
The export contained 160 project records and 1,200 attachments, but fourteen projects still lacked dependable relationships. ₹42 lakh migration work and ₹18 lakh overlap remained separate costs.
Current focus
Making the rights, relationships and limits behind enterprise information visible before a convenient system result becomes a business conclusion.

Arjan kept the access correction separate from the assessment of what had happened. He owned his original approval and gave the board an account of the evidence and unfinished obligations instead of a premature completion statement.
