Please describe the commercial decisions your data is expected to support and where its meaning is currently contested. An initial CDO discussion should include enterprise scale, reporting relationships and the authority to revise a definition or investigate missing evidence. I would want to understand how finance, privacy, technology and operating owners participate before the result is used. For an outside appointment, please explain the intended contribution, expected time and relationships requiring review. I currently serve as both CDO and executive director, with a 0.2% holding, so those commitments must be considered explicitly. Further preparation for an independent role remains incomplete. Initial exchanges should avoid customer records and confidential trading detail; we can agree an appropriate process if the mandate fits. The purpose is to establish responsibility before proposing a measure or treating a familiar calculation as an answer.
