Start with the workforce, not the vacancy

If your board is considering me, tell me about the workforce first: how many people work for the company without being employed by it, how much of the work happens at night or in the field, and what the nomination and remuneration committee currently sees. Ownership, listing status and the expected time commitment will tell me quickly whether a conversation is sensible.
