Education Demand, Deferral and Investor Evidence Model Lead mandate in Mumbai, India · Education Services
A four-month project will build an education demand and deferral scenario model with a source-linked investor evidence book, enabling reproducible financial explanations without assuming fundraising execution or guaranteeing enrolment outcomes.
The mandate
The problem is that education demand scenarios cannot currently explain how deferrals and cancellations alter delivery obligations, cash and investor-facing measures. A bounded model build will establish that bridge. It will not forecast academic outcomes or certify an investment valuation.
The deliverables are a demand-deferral scenario model, a programme assumption register and an investor evidence book that links approved measures to source records. The model must retain the difference between a participant moving to a later delivery date and one leaving the programme entirely. Users should be able to explain those movements without changing formulas privately to achieve a desired outlook.
Work starts on 19 October 2026 and finishes on 18 February 2027. Milestone one, 16 November, establishes source definitions and the reconciled demand baseline. Milestone two, 11 January, delivers the scenario engine and draft evidence book. Milestone three, 18 February, completes validation, user testing and controlled transfer. Delivery requires three days weekly with scheduled programme-owner workshops.
Acceptance is by the head of finance and the authorised investor-relations owner. They must reproduce selected cohort movements, trace every investor measure to an approved calculation and run a new deferral scenario with consistent cash and delivery effects. Unsupported records may be classified as unresolved limitations, but cannot be concealed inside unexplained adjustments.
The sponsor provides authorised cohort histories, collection schedules, programme delivery calendars and access to an internal model custodian. Mumbai is the primary location, with remote global workshops agreed in advance. External investor communication, accounting policy changes and admissions-process redesign are excluded. Additional programme models or an extension into financing documentation require approved change control before work proceeds.
What you will own
- Map enquiry, enrolment, deferral, cancellation and delivery states, resolving ambiguous transitions with programme owners before writing model logic and retaining the agreed interpretation for future refreshes.
- Reconcile the starting cohort population to management records, distinguishing missing evidence from legitimate timing differences and preserving the reconciliation trail.
- Build cash and delivery scenario mechanics that respond to participant-state changes, testing that one movement cannot simultaneously count as retention and new demand.
- Create the assumption register with source, owner, update cadence and reversal trigger, preventing an inherited forecast assumption from becoming an unexamined fact.
- Assemble the investor evidence book around approved measures, including calculation lineage and limitations rather than copying persuasive language from prior presentations.
- Conduct adversarial model tests using extreme deferral, cancellation and collection patterns, documenting both expected behaviour and failure conditions for the internal model custodian.
- Transfer a controlled version and refresh procedure, requiring the internal custodian to process a fresh cohort extract and explain a changed output before final acceptance.
Candidate qualifications
- Show hands-on delivery of a cohort or programme financial model where state transitions affected revenue, capacity and cash differently. Explain the source mapping and a logic error discovered during testing. The sponsor needs model judgement, not a generic long-range-planning presentation.
- Evidence experience preparing financial material for authorised investor use. Describe how a metric was reconciled to source, what limitation was disclosed and how the calculation remained reproducible when the underlying data changed.
- Demonstrate a disciplined consulting method: resolving definitions before building, using explicit test cases and transferring ownership through observed user execution. Candidates should provide an example in which acceptance depended on analytical reliability rather than on the model producing the sponsor's preferred forecast.
- Be able to work with sensitive participant and commercial information through minimised authorised datasets. Explain version control, access boundaries and the treatment of incomplete records. Education-services exposure is valuable, but transferable cohort-model expertise must be evidenced rather than assumed; no academic-content or regulated investment credential is implied. Show how the model custodian identified an invalid participant transition and prevented that error from contaminating investor evidence. Describe how a corrected participant record was versioned, approved and propagated into the next forecast without changing previously released investor evidence silently.
