What does the customer have to do to get that price?
I begin with a grocery offer that appears attractive in a commercial plan but asks a household to meet several conditions. Participants examine quantity, timing, availability and the work of explanation at the till. I then discuss our bounded essentials-basket trial, including the supplier funding we surrendered and the limits of what the observed sales movement could establish. The session asks commercial leaders to describe the customer task as carefully as they describe the advertised price. It is designed for teams willing to debate a real trade-off, rather than looking for a general statement about affordability. A facilitated discussion considers how a simpler proposition would be funded, which products would be selected and how availability would be reviewed. I close by distinguishing a useful operating test from a claim about every household's food budget. The examples are illustrative and do not provide product-pricing advice for a participant's business; their value is in the questions used to prepare a defensible decision.
