Road-support technology should help a qualified colleague make a better decision about a real journey, without allowing a convenient calculation or a restored server to stand in for the whole service.

The closest workshop was across the barrier
Abstract
I approved a straight-line partner ranking that omitted part of the operating question. The correction made its limits explicit while leaving actual service decisions with qualified owners.
Our compression setting reduced file size while removing detail from sixty selected attachments. The useful measure was whether the material still supported its legitimate service purpose.

Functional recovery and enterprise dependencies5 min read
The application returned within four hours, but the service depended on more than its server. A joined exercise retained six manual-fallback cases alongside twenty-two completed test workflows.
Our partner list was ordered by straight-line distance. I had approved that apparently helpful simplification. In a controlled review, the nearest dot could sit across a divided road or require an access route that the ranking had not considered. The calculation was doing what we asked of it. What we had asked was insufficient for the operating decision. Correcting the list meant examining the road context and leaving the actual dispatch judgement with the people responsible for it.
I am Tenzin Qevmuri, fictional CIO of Veqmethi Road Support in Kolhapur. We coordinate commercial-vehicle roadside assistance through 180 independent partner workshops, with 284 direct employees and₹138 crore FY 26 service revenue. My 26 IT colleagues work through four leads within₹6.8 crore FY 2026–27 operating expense;₹2.4 crore approved capital is separate. We do not own the partner workshops or act as an emergency authority. Arun leads operations, and qualified owners decide the actual service, route and technical work. A system recommendation does not transfer those responsibilities to my team.
I began in service-desk work in 1995 and have spent thirty-one years learning to follow an application result into the work it is meant to support. A compressed photograph can lose the detail a qualified colleague needs. A partner view can disclose a vehicle history beyond the current service. A server can be restored while the telephone path needed to use it remains untested. These are different technology decisions, with different owners and costs. I want their account to remain specific enough that a board can understand both the useful result and the judgement still required.
Road context before a nearest-partner claim
A sixty-scenario review found forty-nine supported rankings and eleven needing further work. Eight of those were resolved through a₹47 lakh programme and three remained for operating judgement. The resulting fifty-seven supported scenarios did not establish faster live response or authorise a route;the exercise corrected the recommendation under its defined conditions.
Retaining the detail a service record actually needs
Of two hundred selected job attachments, 140 retained the required readability after compression and sixty did not. Fifty were recovered from retained originals;ten remained pending a fresh request. The₹39 lakh programme produced 190 usable attachments in that set, not a technical diagnosis or a reason to collect unrestricted customer material.
Testing the service after restoring its application
A recovery exercise restored the application within four hours but left its telephone and working dependencies unproven. After a₹62 lakh programme, twenty-two of twenty-eight controlled calls completed the defined intake-to-partner-contact workflow; six needed manual fallback. The report retained those limits instead of calling a restored server complete service recovery.
Current focus
Road-context recommendations, usable job evidence, appropriately scoped partner information and recovery exercises that reach the actual working service.

As CEO, I saw Tenzin keep the four-hour application restoration separate from the later working-service test. His paper retained the six manual-fallback cases rather than let a useful component result become a claim that every dependency had recovered.
