The seat I am pursuing

I am interested in a first seat with an equipment-rental or service enterprise seeking better judgement around data-supported commitments. Risk or strategy committee participation may be appropriate after the relevant preparation, eligibility review and induction. I make no claim to immediate chair readiness. The board should include complementary operating, financial and legal experience and expect me to learn beyond the analytical account. I would value a setting where a corrected model claim or an inconclusive experiment can be discussed without hiding the resources already spent. My not-yet-registered databank position and unfinished assessment would remain explicit during the appointment process. The contribution I seek is a disciplined connection between evidence and action, with management responsible for implementation. A useful board relationship should support both commercial ambition and the willingness to reconsider a claim when its underlying conditions do not support the interpretation first attached to it.

Board and committee exposure

Presented to the Board or a committee

Qazvori Workcycle Hire

Executive presentations on model evaluation, customer research and data-reporting proposals; no statutory or committee seat

February 2021 onward

Presents data recommendations through CEO Mira Qevnuli. This is executive participation in board discussions and does not represent a statutory-director appointment.

Governance learning and readiness

IICA Independent Directors’ Databank: Not yet registered

In this fictional career, IICA databank registration has not begun and the proficiency assessment is not completed. No exemption or passed result is asserted.

  • Complete the relevant registration and proficiency preparation
  • Develop knowledge of enterprise financial and legal responsibilities beyond data leadership
  • Study the proposed committee's authority and the company's operating context

My contribution to a board

I would help directors examine the route from a data result to the action management proposes. A model may appear strong because it includes knowledge unavailable at the actual decision date. A market comparison may reflect what the service could offer as much as what customers wanted. A trial can provide a useful signal while leaving the case for a larger commitment unsettled. Those are questions about enterprise judgement, not simply technical methods. My executive record includes the renewal score I approved prematurely, and I would bring that changed view into the discussion. My board exposure so far comes from executive presentations, with no statutory appointment. I would need to learn the proposed company's wider obligations and work alongside colleagues whose expertise reveals financial, legal and operating consequences beyond my own. The contribution should make evidence easier to challenge without turning board participation into direct management of analysts or customer programmes.

Judgement in practice

01

Connect a model claim with the actual decision date

Our retrospective renewal model correctly classified 182 of 200 contracts, but used an invoice created after the intended prediction point. We withdrew the 91% claim and spent ₹41 lakh rebuilding the evaluation. A different prospective shadow cohort produced 154 correct classifications from 200 contracts. I would ask directors whether management has established what was knowable when the proposed decision would occur, and whether its comparison and error costs support the intended use. The later 77% result does not itself prove commercial value or a measured fourteen-point decline. The board should understand the action a score would prompt and the responsibilities retained by commercial, operating and professional owners. That permits oversight of a material model use without requiring directors to select its technical implementation or assume that a corrected evaluation completes the deployment decision.

02

Ask which requests the transaction account cannot see

Two depots completed 120 and 80 hires over twenty-eight days, but the second had cycles available on only sixteen. We commissioned ₹32 lakh of observation work before an expansion conclusion. I would ask a board whether the investment paper distinguishes completed activity from demand that the service conditions may have prevented it from observing. The figures do not prove the second depot's demand was stronger, and a simple available-day rate cannot reconstruct the missing days. Directors can examine the uncertainty management proposes to reduce and whether the research cost is proportionate to the commitment. Operating and financial owners retain the actual allocation decision. The contribution is to prevent an accurate transaction total from carrying a market conclusion that requires evidence the existing file does not contain.

03

Choose the scale of action a trial can support

Our reminder trial randomly assigned 400 eligible accounts equally between the offer and usual process. Forty-two versus thirty-four renewed within eight weeks, an observed four-point difference. The ₹18 lakh trial supported another planned evaluation before full rollout. I would ask directors how management considered uncertainty, execution, economics and the relevance of the tested population before proposing a larger programme. A positive difference deserves attention without being promoted into a universal or profitable effect. The board can also ask whether the next study will answer the remaining decision question rather than continue until a favourable result appears. These questions support proportionate commitment while leaving programme design, customer permissions and operational delivery with the executives and qualified owners accountable for them.

My first year on a board

Induction would begin with the enterprise's service and economics, not with a tour of its data tools. Through arrangements agreed with the chair, I would listen to operating, commercial and finance colleagues to understand which decisions materially affect customers and resources. One selected model or research proposal could provide a practical way to follow the connection from evidence to action. I would study the board's authority, the committee remit and the responsibilities retained by management. I would also seek guidance on financial and legal matters beyond my specialist experience. At the first-year review, I would ask whether my contribution made an important decision more intelligible and whether I had remained open to evidence that challenged my preferred interpretation. Preparation, learning and follow-up need time alongside meetings. The role should strengthen collective oversight rather than create a second route for directing the enterprise's analytical work.

Conflicts and their management

Before receiving confidential material, I would review relationships involving Qazvori's ownership groups, equipment suppliers, customers, analytical vendors and prospective counterparties. Employer consent and the practical effect of exclusions would need consideration. Qualified advice should address the Companies Act's independence conditions, applicable SEBI LODR requirements, committee eligibility and directorship limits in the proposed setting. No current statutory seat does not remove the need for that assessment. Twenty-four provisional days must cover induction, papers, travel, meetings and additional demands when circumstances change. Customer records, contract evidence and model extracts from my executive role would remain with their authorised owners. I would decline a position if conflicts or workload prevented a useful contribution, even when its data question was intellectually attractive. The opportunity to apply a familiar discipline is not enough if the relationships or calendar make responsible participation impractical.

My independence statement

Connections through Qazvori's founders, fund, employee vehicle, equipment suppliers, customers and analytical vendors require review. Having no personal allocation does not establish independence for a proposed board role.
