Describe the commitment your board must understand

A useful opening conversation would describe your business, the technology obligations that concern the board and the contribution you expect from an additional director. I would like to understand whether the immediate question is investment, continuity, dependence on a specialist supplier or the withdrawal of an older service. Please also explain the ownership structure, committee arrangements, expected calendar and any material relationship with Orelvi Design Computing. My twenty-two-day annual allowance is provisional and would need to be tested against induction, travel and exceptional work. Employer consent, confidentiality, conflicts and eligibility must be addressed before an appointment is accepted. I am interested in a substantive oversight contribution that works alongside management; an invitation to manage a technology project or endorse a software purchase would require a different conversation and is not the board role described here.
