Writing to a Pune gear maker about boards, plants and unions

A component maker stays independent through the electric transition by investing where its precision travels and by never letting one customer own its future.

Nomination committee chairs and search partners considering me for the kind of seat set out on my Board Readiness page are welcome to write. It helps if a first note names the company, who owns it, which committees you have in mind, how often its board meets and whether it buys from, sells to or competes with Kavirath, our vehicle-maker customers or any Ghaisas family business; I check those links before agreeing to meet. Fellow chief executives of Indian manufacturers, plant leaders and trade-union officials are equally welcome if they want to compare experience of staging electric-vehicle investment, pricing large customers or bringing contract workers onto the permanent roll. I also give a few talks each year to manufacturing and governance gatherings.

Some subjects are closed. Kavirath's results before publication, what any customer pays us, nominations not yet announced and anything else that could move our share price stay inside the company, and I do not discuss buying or selling its shares. Recruiters with executive roles will find me uninterested for now, and anyone selling to Kavirath should approach our purchasing teams. Messages sent through this page reach me directly, and I try to answer within ten days.
