Chief Technology Officer Japan

Write with a specific engineering or governance question

A machine tool is judged by the part it cuts on a warm afternoon, years after its makers have stopped watching.

Three kinds of letter are useful to me. The first comes from the chair or nomination committee of a listed manufacturer outside metal cutting that is considering an outside director with an engineering background; please say what the board lacks, and whether your company buys from, supplies or holds shares in Isaragi. The second comes from a university laboratory or engineering society with a specific question about thermal accuracy, machine data or apprenticeship in precision work. The third is an invitation to speak to an audience that will argue back. I cannot answer requests for quotations, machine service, delivery dates or employment at Isaragi; our sales offices, the service centre number shown on every machine and our recruitment pages will reach someone able to act. I do not discuss customers, export licensing decisions or individual shipments, and I will not open drawings or part programmes attached to a first message. Any board conversation would continue only with our president's agreement.
