Chief Information Officer Australia
Tell me what your board needs to see
I judge grain-logistics systems by the harvest weeks, when a slow screen at a weighbridge becomes a line of trucks on a country highway.
A useful first message would tell me what the organisation operates and what the board wants to understand better: perhaps a system replacement close to an operating peak, cyber risk around plant or a port, or how to oversee safety data it already holds. I would also want to know the ownership, the committee the role would join and roughly how many days a year it involves. Please do not send confidential incident reports or vendor contracts at this stage; a short description of the issue is enough. I remain chief information officer at Ninderbrook Bulk Logistics, and any appointment would depend on a conflicts review and my chief executive's agreement. Enquiries from growers about deliveries or settlements, and from carriers about bookings or queues, should go to our receival team, who can act on them far faster than I can through this site.
