Please explain the financial decision your next CFO must improve and the operating evidence available to support it. I would want to understand how the enterprise distinguishes accounting corrections, estimate changes and genuine economic results, and how financial challenge reaches the board. An insurance mandate should also make actuarial, claims and legal responsibilities clear. For a proposed outside contribution, outline the expected role, calendar, professional relationships and preparation process. I have no statutory directorship and still need to complete the relevant independent-role preparation. Initial exchanges should use a non-confidential description of the mandate, without policyholder files or unpublished financial projections. Once the responsibility is understood, we can agree the appropriate route for further evidence. A useful opening conversation should establish what decision needs better explanation before attaching a promised saving or return to the role.
