Keep the public promise connected to its evidence

I want insurance communication to carry the meaning the customer can use, the evidence the campaign has earned and the version the company can still stand behind.

01

Comprehension beyond a fluent translation

A translation can read smoothly while carrying a meaning the approved proposition does not support. I ask readers to explain the message in their own terms and work with professional owners on the difference between that understanding and the intended account. The 2019 cashless concept failed that test because reassurance became an expectation of unrestricted payment. Enlarging a qualification would not necessarily repair the central idea. We changed the explanation and retained the unresolved responses in the review. A selected comprehension exercise is useful for finding problems; it is not a population survey or proof that every customer will interpret the material correctly. My responsibility is to make the communication more faithful and usable while preserving the professional authority over policy terms, service authorisation and individual customer decisions.

02

The comparison behind a response claim

A campaign report needs to explain what would support an incremental claim, rather than count every response near an advertisement as caused by it. In our small invitation exercise, both groups continued to receive ordinary communication and only one received the additional campaign. Thirty-three requests beside twenty-seven provided a defined comparison, with uncertainty that a simple attribution report omitted. I did not treat the difference as a settled forecast for a larger audience or as proof that the campaign had no effect. The decision was to improve the evidence before committing more spending. Marketing should work with research specialists on design, sample and interpretation, keeping permission for the contact and the definition of the outcome clear. The resulting account may be less dramatic, but it gives management a better basis for deciding what further work is justified.

03

Version control where the message is encountered

Changing the master artwork does not ensure that every partner placement has changed with it. I ask how the approved version travels, how superseded copies are found and what evidence establishes that a correction reached the public encounter. Our review distinguished current placements, corrected placements and those withdrawn because the new version was not yet available. That distinction prevented a report of complete repair from hiding five remaining gaps. Withdrawal from promotion did not cancel an existing customer’s policy or settle a question about earlier communication. Those matters required the responsible service and professional owners. Marketing needed to preserve the version history and route relevant concerns, while ensuring the next prospect did not continue to receive material we no longer approved for that purpose.

04

A customer promise with accountable owners

I want the communication account to identify who can approve its meaning, who controls distribution and who responds when a customer understands it differently. Marketing has a substantial role in that system, but it does not acquire underwriting or claims authority through the strength of its language. I separate campaign expense from commissions and premium measures so that the spending decision is not obscured by unrelated business scale. I also distinguish a research finding from an enterprise conclusion and an updated central asset from a corrected partner network. When directors ask about the promise being made, they should receive the limitations alongside the headline. My contribution is to make those limitations understandable enough to change a recommendation, including when the original confident version was one I had personally approved.

A leadership conviction

A message is not finished when we approve the words. It must still be understood as intended, supported by the evidence and current where a customer encounters it.
