Which assumption does the organisation need to examine?

If you are considering an introduction, start with the engineering promise your organisation needs to understand. Perhaps a platform is said to be reproducible, a measurement is treated as complete, or a dependency is assumed to be available indefinitely. I can understand the subject from a short invented example and an explanation of who relies on that promise. Please keep proprietary code, internal licence advice and production event records out of an opening message. For a possible appointment, I would also need to know how the chair expects technical experience to contribute to oversight and what learning the role requires. My existing employment, unfinished preparation and provisional calendar would need consideration before acceptance.
