I am the fictional CIO of Varneli Retail, an Indian apparel and footwear retailer serving shoppers through 148 stores in twenty cities and direct online sales. I lead 162 technology employees through five direct reports, with forty-five contractors counted separately. My FY2026–27 authority is ₹96 crore, including ₹62 crore continuing operations and ₹34 crore change. I report to the CEO and work closely with retail operations, while merchandising and service-policy owners retain their decisions.
My career began at Arunvaya Stores in July 1992 after a computer science degree. I joined Varneli in 2001, moved from store technology into channel integration in 2008 and enterprise technology in 2014, and became CIO in January 2020. Those roles taught me to examine what a system message lets a colleague promise to a customer.
My proposed speaking sessions concern stock availability, incomplete return records, application and queue measures, customer linkage and support ownership. The examples preserve the distinction between a controlled test and an actual service outcome. I do not turn a faster lookup into a staffing claim or a confirmed record link into new permission. I want the audience to leave with a clearer decision and a better account of who must make it. All named employers and cases in this demonstration are fictional.
