What did the reader buy before the platform changed?
I use an invented subscription migration to examine the promise hidden inside a product mapping. The audience follows 72,000 entitlements, including 6,000 that need commercial interpretation and 1,500 that remain on an assisted route after the review. We consider why a common account cannot by itself establish the meaning of an earlier bundle or complimentary arrangement. Participants identify the owner who can interpret the promise, the evidence that should accompany the mapping and the service needed while a question remains unresolved. The session compares the attraction of a rapid standard conversion with the cost of preserving an explanation readers can rely upon. It distinguishes entitlement counts from unique people and migration results from retention claims. The intended outcome is a clearer conversation between commercial, service and technology colleagues before a programme assigns business meaning through a convenient default. The exercise uses fictional material and does not require participants to disclose subscriber records or the terms of a confidential offer.
