What changes when the quantity changes?
I use a development-scale example to examine the assumptions that can disappear behind a simple quantity multiplier. A 50-kilogram result and a proposed 300-kilogram run may share familiar process names while involving different equipment and material conditions. The session follows the question from an engineering plan into an investment discussion, retaining the schedule consequence and the authority of quality colleagues. Participants consider what the next study is intended to establish, what observation would change the proposed route and which claims remain outside its scope. The example does not teach a manufacturing procedure or suggest that one engineering programme establishes commercial validation. It gives leaders from different functions a shared way to discuss what the technical evidence can support. I close by asking when receiving equipment specialists should enter the planning conversation, so an unexamined scale assumption does not become a fixed investment date before anyone has described the uncertainty that matters.
