The seat I am pursuing
I would explore one first outside appointment with a clear need for operating judgement about specialist services and the conditions behind growth. Risk or strategy committee membership may be appropriate after the receiving company assesses the contribution and requirements. I do not claim readiness to chair a committee or infer a statutory track record from executive presentations. The fictional July 2026 databank registration is followed by an unfinished proficiency assessment, with no exemption claimed. Twenty-two days is a provisional external allowance that must include induction, papers, meetings, travel and exceptional demands beside the COO role. I would seek an experienced chair and colleagues with complementary financial, legal and sector knowledge. The board should need a contribution I can make responsibly, and I should be willing to revise my assumptions when its business differs from mine. A title would not compensate for inadequate preparation, unresolved relationships or time that cannot realistically be provided.
Governance learning and readiness
IICA Independent Directors’ Databank: Registered
The fictional record places IICA databank registration in July 2026. The proficiency assessment has not been completed and no exemption is asserted. This is preparation in progress, not a statement that appointment conditions have already been met.
- Learn company and committee duties beyond executive operating responsibility
- Develop a wider financial and sector understanding for the receiving enterprise
- Practise collective enquiry without directing another company's production teams
My contribution to a board
I would help a board examine whether management's completion claim matches the service the enterprise has promised. The source may be approved but not the version used in production. A language pack may be translated but still need a timing decision. A majority of accepted assignments may leave the larger commercial exposure unresolved. Those distinctions can affect the board's understanding of growth and risk without requiring directors to manage individual sessions or test every line. I would bring experience of making a handoff correction visible even when the earlier decision was mine. I would also ask whether professional findings have reached the commercial offer and the instructions followed by the operating team. My experience comes from executive delivery responsibility. A first statutory role would require induction into the whole company and its duties, including financial, people and sector risks outside the parts of the enterprise I currently lead.
Board and committee exposure
Presented to the Board or a committee
Tazquni Interactive Services
Operating presentations through the CEO; no director or committee appointment
February 2022 onward
Explains delivery conditions, corrections and acceptance exposure. Executive presentation gives no statutory seat or authority over the client's publishing decisions.
Judgement in practice
01Locating responsibility between a source decision and the work it authorised
The recording batch contained 1,360 takes, of which 940 remained usable and 420 required replacement. I had allowed the session to proceed without a sufficiently explicit source-version confirmation. The ₹27 lakh correction therefore records my responsibility as well as the revised handoff. I would ask directors to examine whether management can connect its assurance to the specific decision governing the work. A technically good output can still implement an outdated proposition. Oversight should be able to question that relationship without blaming performers for a source problem or assuming that a new document control alone resolves every creative revision. The useful contribution is to keep the authority, consequence and limits of the correction visible together.
02Keeping a new creative use outside the promise until its basis exists
The ₹2.8 crore model-training extension involved voice material whose existing agreements did not include that proposed purpose. We declined the offer as framed and spent ₹24 lakh on review and operating controls. I would ask a board how qualified permissions findings reach commercial commitments and asset-handling instructions. The case does not claim all artificial-intelligence use is unlawful or make operations the interpreter of performer rights. It shows why a company needs a specific basis for the use it proposes. The extension remains unexecuted. A governance discussion should retain that commercial consequence rather than describe an unresolved opportunity as both responsibly withheld and already won.
03Understanding what a project percentage leaves outside the headline
Nine of twelve assignments were accepted, but their ₹18 crore value was smaller than the ₹42 crore attached to the three pending projects. We retained the count and values together, including ₹7 crore of invoices not yet releasable under their terms. I would help a board ask what completion describes and which obligations remain. Neither 75% by count nor 30% by contract value establishes the proportion of production effort finished. Accounting treatment and client acceptance retain their owners. The revised report did not itself collect cash or finish work. Its value was to direct attention to the actual conditions requiring a decision, with a less comforting headline and a clearer account of the enterprise's exposure.
My first year on a board
My first priority would be to understand the receiving company's service promise and the chair's expectations of the role. I would learn how management defines completion, acceptance and obligation before drawing parallels with localisation. Familiar words can describe different contractual and operating states in another business. Induction should include the work behind the board account and the professional responsibilities that govern it, with access arranged through management rather than a separate line of instruction. As meetings progress, I would follow the assumptions the board has chosen to monitor and ask how changed conditions affect earlier decisions. I would seek feedback on whether my questions improve collective judgement or pull discussion into production detail. I also need to broaden my understanding beyond delivery, especially where finance, people, security and sector obligations shape the enterprise. A useful first year should make me better able to interpret the whole company, not simply more confident in applying examples from my current role.
Conflicts and their management
I would disclose relationships through Tazquni's founders, investor, clients, performers, partners and my personal interests before receiving confidential material. Creative-service relationships can connect several companies on the same programme without that overlap being obvious from their main business descriptions. Qualified advisers should assess the actual position under relevant company-law, independence and listing requirements where applicable. A lack of personal shares does not establish that no conflict exists. I would consider whether recusal still permits a meaningful contribution and decline where the overlap or demands make the role impractical. Employer consent and realistic time need to be established alongside those relationships. I would not bring unreleased scripts, voice assets, client plans or private contract terms into an outside board discussion. The experience can inform the questions while the evidence stays with the people entitled to use it. That discipline must continue as programmes and relationships change, rather than be treated as a declaration completed only at appointment.
My independence statement
Tazquni's founders, investor, employee vehicle, clients, performers and service partners may create relationships relevant to a proposed appointment. My lack of a personal allocation does not resolve independence; the particular links and duties need qualified assessment.
