An invitation
Start with the observation, the proposed use and the unresolved question between them.
I am most useful when a research record has become easier to handle but harder to interpret. Tell me where that has happened: perhaps two measurement methods now share a chart, a blank field has acquired a convenient code, or an archive result is being described more broadly than its test. An outline of the question and the responsible functions is enough to begin assessing relevance. Participant-level material and unpublished scientific findings should stay within their authorised setting. Before a genuine conversation proceeds, I would need to establish permitted scope with my employer and understand which specialists should be involved. A board introduction would also require an account of the institution’s needs, relationships and preparation expectations. No professional engagement is available from this invented person. The demonstration illustrates an appropriate opening for a research-data leader: a precise question about meaning, with access to the underlying evidence considered separately by its accountable owners.
