Chief Strategy Officer Australia
Who I would like to hear from, and what I must decline
I judge every kiln, line and acquisition by what it earns in a housing trough, because the boom will flatter all of them.
If you chair a board or advise one on its composition, and the seat you are filling sits near a long-lived capital decision, an energy contract or a portfolio question after a cycle, I would be glad to talk. It helps me most to know at the outset what the company makes, which energy and raw materials it buys, and whether it has any dealings with Marrangal, Hayatsu Gypsum or Wattlebrook Community Housing, so that I can check conflicts before we meet.
I also enjoy comparing notes with peers in energy-intensive manufacturing on gas contracting, connection queues and co-investment conditions, and with housing researchers whose forecasts differ from mine. Each year I take on a handful of speaking engagements as well.
There are things I cannot discuss. Marrangal is listed, so I will not talk about unpublished results, transactions or anything else that could move its share price. Sales enquiries belong with our divisional teams. And I am not considering executive roles while the work described on my career page is unfinished. Please use the contact route on this page; I read every message myself and reply within two weeks.
