Write to me about seats, hedging or capital

An Islamic bank should price its rate, funding and Shariah risks in its own finance office, before a payout or a rate cycle prices them instead.

If you are a nomination committee chair, a company secretary or a search partner with an audit committee seat at a Bursa Malaysia-listed company outside financial services, I would like to hear from you. It saves us both time if your first note names the company, the committees involved, the meeting calendar and any banking, deposit or takaful relationship the company has with Sejahra or with our parent's shareholders, because I check conflicts before I agree to meet.

I am glad to compare notes with other bank CFOs, treasurers and audit committee members on profit-rate hedging, deposit concentration, overlays and payout policy, and to speak to finance or governance audiences on those subjects.

There are limits. I cannot discuss Sejahra's unpublished results, individual customers, supervisory correspondence or anything that could affect our parent's share price, and I do not handle financing applications, which belong with our relationship teams. I am not considering executive approaches at present. I answer messages sent through this page myself, normally within ten working days.
