Chief Strategy Officer Canada
Tell me the question, the company and any link to Sorrelgate
We buy software businesses to keep them, which is exactly why I write down in advance the conditions under which we would not.
I read every note myself, and three kinds help me most. A board chair or search firm thinking of me for an independent seat outside software should say which committee they have in mind, what the company sells and to whom, and whether it has any dealings with Sorrelgate. A confidential approach about a chief executive role at a Canadian technology company is welcome on the terms set out on my career page. Organisers planning a substantive session on acquisition discipline, public-sector purchasing or what AI is doing to software services can expect an answer within two weeks. Founders thinking of selling a vertical software business are welcome to write too, but I pass those notes to our corporate development team, which replies faster than I can and handles every approach the same way. I cannot comment on acquisitions Sorrelgate is or might be studying, on results beyond our published disclosures or on individual businesses we own. Customers with a support or contract question should contact the business that serves them. Please send no confidential financial material with a first note; once we have agreed how it will be handled, I will ask for what I need.
