Write to me about hourly work, bargaining or language

In a rural store, the work a plan removes usually turns up somewhere else.

Most of my correspondence is in French or English, and either is welcome here. I am glad to hear from the chair or nominating committee of a Canadian board looking for experience of hourly and unionised workforces, from organisers of a session on bargaining, store automation or language at work, and from HR leaders in other companies who are wrestling with a specific problem I have written about. A useful first note names the organisation, the question, the time it would take and any link to Grangemont, its suppliers or its competitors. Executive search firms should know that I am not considering executive roles. I cannot comment on Grangemont's bargaining positions, pay data or individual employees. Grangemont colleagues and job applicants should use our internal HR service, the ethics line or, where it applies, their union representative, where someone can act on their concern. Please send no personnel files or confidential pay material with a first message.
