Twelve deputies were carrying twenty-four promises

The succession sheet showed a deputy beside each of twenty-four lead roles. I had endorsed it as a reassuring account of cover. When we followed the names rather than the boxes, twelve people appeared twice. The chart described twenty-four possible pairings; it did not give the company twenty-four independently available replacements. An exhibition movement can bring several demands together, so the difference mattered precisely when the business would most want the plan to work. I had counted the neatness of the record before examining the capacity behind it.

I am Gurleen Qaznethi, fictional CHRO of Nerzemi Exhibition Movers in Gwalior. Our four depots support specialist packing, movement coordination and temporary storage for collections and exhibitions within India. We employ 480 people and record₹168 crore FY 26 service revenue. Nineteen HR colleagues work through three leads within₹3.2 crore FY 2026–27 function expense. We are not museum owners or conservation authorities. Qualified operating colleagues determine the technical work and the clearance needed for an assignment; my responsibility is to help the employment and development arrangements support those decisions honestly.

My career began in collections-service administration in 1995. Induction work taught me that a completed record and a supported professional decision are different things. Today I bring that question to succession, learning, travel and hiring. The correction sometimes leaves a smaller number or an additional cost in the report. I prefer that to an attractive account whose conditions have been left for the employee or the operating team to discover after the decision.

A smaller succession number with more useful meaning

The original twenty-four entries referred to twelve people. A₹42 lakh development and review programme produced a revised account of sixteen distinct deputies mapped to sixteen roles, with eight roles explicitly uncovered. This was not a promise that all sixteen could replace incumbents simultaneously;availability and assignment still required review.

Attendance kept separate from practical clearance

Forty-eight colleagues attended the defined training. Thirty-six completed practical assessment:twenty-nine cleared the specified tasks and seven needed more practice. Twelve had not yet been assessed. The₹28 lakh programme funded paid practice and assessment time;attendance alone did not become authority to undertake specialist handling.

Hiring evidence closer to the actual packing role

In a sixty-candidate work-sample review, thirty-six met the technical criteria and twenty-four did not. Of nineteen people previously screened out for spoken-English fluency, twelve met those criteria. A₹32 lakh redesign allowed Hindi or English explanation where the actual task supported that choice;assessment results were not counted as hires.

Current focus

Succession without duplicate capacity, task-specific learning evidence, private accommodation choices during business travel and hiring standards connected to the work.

As Gurleen's CEO, I saw her replace a complete-looking succession number with an account of the gaps we still had to address. She kept the development cost and the limits of the revised cover visible rather than present funding as a finished answer.
