The page looked faithful before its sequence was followed

The converted page looked persuasive. Its spacing and visual hierarchy resembled the source, and in 2018 I approved the samples on that basis. Farida Qezronli followed the underlying sequence instead of relying on the appearance. Six of eighteen reviewed samples placed sidebar material inside the main argument at the wrong point. Twelve preserved the intended order. My approval had answered a narrower question than the one the publication needed us to examine.

I completed computer-science studies at Drevzathi Computing College in May 1996 and joined Drezvalqi Composition Services in June. Eight colleagues formed the technical group. I supported composition systems and investigated conversion problems under supervision, without authority to alter a client’s editorial meaning. The work taught me that a visible page and its underlying structure were related but different accounts. A technically valid output could still make the reader encounter the wrong sequence or lose a distinction the source depended on.

In April 2003 I became Conversion Engineering Manager, leading twelve colleagues within ₹1.7 crore annual function expense. We helped clients move material between publication formats. I learned to ask which relationships had to survive that move rather than treat conversion as a successful transfer of visible characters. Notes, references and expressions could remain present while becoming less useful or changing meaning. Client editors and qualified subject practitioners retained their decisions, and the engineering account had to show where their judgement was needed rather than conceal the question inside a finished file.

I joined Trezqoni Digital Typesetting in April 2010 as Publication Engineering Manager, with twenty-four colleagues and ₹4.3 crore annual function expense. The company gave me continuing responsibility for digital-publication methods rather than the end of an individual conversion assignment. I worked with Farida and other practitioners to connect engineering tests with the reading conditions in the commission. That responsibility later made the visual-approval mistake my own failure to preserve a known distinction, not a lesson discovered only after the technology unexpectedly misbehaved.

Promotion to Technical Director followed in April 2016. Thirty-four colleagues worked within ₹6.7 crore annual operating expense. The 2018 sequence review required correction of six samples and ₹52 lakh over ten weeks to revise acceptance. The technical work had to preserve which material belonged to the main argument and which was supplementary, with qualified editorial decisions retained. We did not claim that the corrected samples proved every accessibility requirement or worked identically in every reading system. The result was a more specific approval account for the material and conditions actually examined.

I became CTO in April 2021. In 2023 we reviewed twenty-eight note references after a conversion change. Twenty-two returned the reader to the correct passage; six returned to the wrong context. We corrected the six and used ₹44 lakh over nine weeks to revise navigation checks. The author’s content did not need rewriting merely because our technical relationship was wrong. The distinction mattered: engineering was responsible for the route through the publication, while the client retained the decision about what the note and passage meant.

In 2025 a thirty-six-expression review found twenty-nine representations preserving the intended meaning and seven with superscript or fraction-grouping problems. Six were corrected, leaving thirty-five supported expressions and one held for qualified subject review. We committed ₹61 lakh over twelve weeks to that work. A visually plausible arrangement could not substitute for agreement about the expression’s meaning, nor could a successful result in the selected reading conditions support a universal compatibility claim.

Today I lead forty-one engineers and report to Indrajit Qavzenti. My small beneficial ownership interest needs disclosure for a possible outside appointment, and executive presentations do not amount to statutory service. I still need further governance preparation before that step. I want the company to explain what its engineering approval establishes, what remains untested and which judgement belongs to a specialist or client. The held expression remains part of that account because completing a delivery list would not have been a better outcome than preserving a question whose answer we were not authorised to invent. I also want commercial colleagues to be able to explain that limit clearly, so the client understands why a qualified answer still matters after most of the engineering work is complete.

A leadership conviction

A page’s appearance is one account of a publication. I want the engineering review to preserve the sequence and meaning a reader depends on when that appearance changes or is not the way they encounter the work.

Perspectives from colleagues

Rukmini made the held expression and its delivery consequence visible. She did not let a nearly complete package become a reason for engineering to invent the subject judgement still missing.

When I followed the sequence beneath the page she had approved, she reopened the samples. She wanted the reading relationship corrected and kept her own visual approval in the account.
