Executive Search Consultant

The role

You will own mandates, not stages of them. From the intake conversation through market mapping, approach, assessment, shortlist and close — one consultant carries the mandate the whole way, because a candidate who is handed between four people learns nothing about the firm except that nobody owns them.

Sector is open. We run mandates across financial services, manufacturing, technology, healthcare, consumer and industrials, and a consultant here is expected to become genuinely useful in two or three of them rather than nominally present in all.

What you will actually do

• Take the intake yourself, and push back on it. Most specifications describe the person who left rather than the person now needed.
• Build the map — the real one, of who is doing this job well and where, not the one assembled from titles on LinkedIn.
• Approach at the level the seat deserves. Our candidates are sitting chief executives and their direct reports; the first message decides whether there is a second.
• Run the assessment against the mandate's actual question, and write the shortlist so a board can read it without a briefing call.
• Stay in the close. Offers fail at the end, and the consultant who mapped the market is the one who knows why this candidate hesitates.

What is different here

Every mandate we run is also a live product surface. The India Board Terminal carries the corpus a member reads, so the quality of your brief is visible to the market rather than filed in a folder. That is a higher standard than most search firms hold themselves to, and it is the reason the writing matters.

You will not be given a call target. You will be given mandates and asked to close them.
