An invitation
Start with the operating footprint and the people question.
I welcome a clear account of the organisation, its operating footprint and the people question behind an approach. For an executive discussion, please describe the reporting relationship, ownership context and why the mandate is changing. For a board conversation, the proposed responsibilities, preparation time and potential commercial connections with my employer would help establish whether a discussion is appropriate. I am interested in technical workforce development, dispersed employment and specialist careers, rather than broad invitations that offer no defined problem. Speaking requests should identify the audience and the decision they are trying to make. I do not discuss private employee cases, confidential pay arrangements or unpublished operating plans. A useful first conversation can work with an anonymised description of the challenge and an honest statement of what remains uncertain. This demonstration contains fictional contact content and does not provide a real individual's address.
