An invitation
Describe the asset and the judgement it requires
A useful first note describes the energy asset or industrial service, the decision facing the organisation and the role you are considering. For a board discussion, please include the ownership context, existing committee responsibilities and expected preparation and meeting calendar. That allows me to consider whether my technology background would add something specific to the skills already present. I hold no external director appointment and would need employer consent and a relationship review before proceeding. For an advisory or speaking invitation, explain the audience and the question they need to examine. Storage duty, equipment qualification and the use of experimental evidence each call for a different conversation. Please keep commercially sensitive project details out of an initial message. We can first establish the purpose, any relevant connections and an appropriate way to discuss the work. My interest is in a clearly framed professional contribution whose expectations can be understood by both sides.
