An invitation
Describe the relationship your next decision will affect
A useful first approach should describe the subscriber or portfolio decision that needs attention. I can discuss acquisition windows, brand distinctions, assisted choice and the judgement behind a marketing allocation. Please identify the company context, intended audience and responsibility of the people involved before proposing a broad engagement. Do not send customer-level records, unpublished wholesale terms or confidential budget material in an initial message. For an executive search, explain the actual remit and the relationship between marketing, finance, pricing and service delivery. For a board enquiry, include ownership, the contribution sought and the expected calendar so that fit, relationships and capacity can be assessed together. A speaking invitation should state the decision participants will examine and the format available for discussion. I am interested in a well-defined professional exchange; a continuing commitment requires the appropriate employer and relationship review, and may not be suitable even when the subject is relevant.
