Conversations about boards, tills and bad Saturdays
In grocery, the system that counts is the one a store can still sell on when everything behind it has failed.
If you chair a nomination committee or advise one, and your board is looking for someone to strengthen its grip on technology and cyber risk, I would be glad to hear from you. The seat I describe on my Board Readiness page is at a European food, consumer or distribution business that does not compete with or sell to Ravessa. A first note that names the company, the committee, the number of meetings a year and any link to Ravessa, the Ravessa family or our suppliers lets me clear conflicts before anyone spends time on a call. Fellow CIOs, security leads and audit committee members comparing approaches to till migrations, card-payment fallbacks or incident rehearsals are equally welcome, as are invitations from retail and governance gatherings.
Three subjects stay closed: Ravessa's results before publication, how our defences are built, and any incident detail we have not already made public. Supplier pitches sent here will go unanswered, and I am not open to executive offers while the merchandising programme lies ahead. Every message reaches me directly; expect a reply within about a week, in Spanish, English, Romanian or German.
