Chief Technology Officer Australia
Writing to me about boards, depots and freight systems
In freight, the hard limits on technology sit outside the software: in the substation, the stevedore's gate and the driver's shift.
Board chairs, nomination committees and search partners are welcome to write to me about one non-executive seat of the kind described on my Board Readiness page: a business outside freight whose operations run on connected equipment and whose Audit and Risk Committee would benefit from someone who has run cyber and operational technology. It helps if your first note names the company, the committees involved, the meeting calendar and any dealings it has with Morrowgate, our customers, our equipment suppliers or the energy businesses that serve our depots. I check conflicts before agreeing to a meeting.
I am glad to hear from engineers and technology leaders working on depot charging, grid connections, transport-platform migration or terminal security, and from organisers of fleet, energy and governance events.
Three subjects are closed: Morrowgate's unreleased results, tenders in progress and the detail of our security controls. Equipment and software sales enquiries should go to our procurement team rather than to me, and I am not open to executive approaches while the current programme is under way. I answer every relevant message myself, normally within five working days.
