Chief Strategy Officer United States
Start with the exposure or capital question
I help a member-owned insurer decide where it can keep writing through the hail season, and what each retreat costs the people it was formed to serve.
The most useful first message would describe the exposure or capital question that has led your board to look for another director. A sentence on ownership, whether mutual, cooperative or listed, and on the committee you have in mind would help me judge quickly whether I am suited. If the question concerns a storm season, a reinsurance renewal or a change of ownership, a general description is enough at this stage; I would not expect loss data or counterparty names before a confidentiality agreement is in place. Because I remain an executive at Ostervale, any appointment would need its consent and a check of relationships with insurers, reinsurers and agencies. I am glad to speak with a chair, a nominating committee member or a search firm acting for the board. Policy, claims or agency enquiries should go directly to Ostervale's service teams.
