Write about the seat and the committee

If your board is weighing a vacancy, three facts would help me at the outset: what the organisation delivers to its members or clients, which committee you expect the new director to join, and what prompted the search. A chair, a nominating committee member or a search adviser is welcome to write. For a regulated institution, naming its supervisor would also help. I usually reply within a week and would suggest a first conversation by video before any meeting in person. Please hold back confidential board papers until we have agreed to continue.
