Introductions for a board conversation

Two thousand broken card readers on one Saturday are not two thousand tickets; they are one incident.

If you are a chair, a nominating committee member or a search consultant, a short note describing the company, its ownership and the reason for the vacancy is the best start. Tell me which committee the board expects the new director to join and how often it meets. I am particularly interested in services businesses that have recently bought another company or plan to. I cannot discuss Brisendale clients, contract terms or service-credit settlements, and I will not comment on competitors. Clients with a service issue should contact their Brisendale account team, which will reach the right person far faster than I can. I currently serve Brisendale full time, so any board conversation would need our chief executive's consent and our sponsor's before it became formal. I read every introduction myself and reply within a week.
