Chief Product Officer India

What to ask me, and what I cannot answer

A life insurance product is judged in its fifth year, not at the counter where it is sold, so I design for the customer who is still paying.

If you chair a nomination committee or advise one, I am glad to talk about a single independent seat of the kind described on my Board Readiness page: a listed company serving households, outside insurance and lending, whose board wants closer sight of how its products are sold and how customers fare afterwards. It helps if your first note names the company, the committee roles in mind, the number of meetings a year and any dealings it has with Varunashree Life, Varunashree Bank or our partner banks, because I check conflicts before agreeing to meet. Product heads, actuaries and underwriters who want to compare approaches to persistency, surrender values or cover for the self-employed are welcome too, as are financial-literacy groups looking for a volunteer speaker.

Some subjects are closed. As an executive of a listed insurer I will not discuss results before they are published, products before they launch or our exchanges with the regulator, and I do not take investment enquiries. Nor am I considering executive roles at present. The details on this page reach me directly, and I normally reply within a week.
