Growth has to honour the service already promised
Why a regional service business should compare expansion with the unresolved commitments inside its existing network.
Expansion has an appealing clarity. A new address, a proposed investment and a forecast can be assembled into a decision that looks forward. Existing centres are less tidy. They carry a history of staffing choices, local relationships and people who already depend on the service. When a business is considering growth, I want both accounts on the table. The next location should not be evaluated as if the obligations inside the current network are merely background conditions that somebody else will resolve.
