Chief Strategy Officer Japan

Which conversations to bring me

With fewer Japanese households every year, a developer's strategy is the short list of towns, buildings and partners it can stay committed to for thirty years.

Most of the letters I value begin with a place: a town losing its bus routes, a condominium whose repair reserve has run short, a company deciding which regional branches to keep. If you chair a nominating committee, or advise one, and the seat resembles what my Board Readiness page describes, please tell me the company, the committees involved, the meeting calendar and any dealings it has with Mikurane, our fund or our US partner, so that I can check for conflicts before we speak. Municipal planners, housing researchers and institutional investors who want to compare evidence on household demand, condominium renewal or construction capacity are welcome to write too, as are invitations to speak to those audiences. I cannot discuss Mikurane's unpublished results, land negotiations or the pricing of future fund tranches, and I am not considering executive roles elsewhere. I answer each message personally, usually within ten days, and can correspond in Japanese or English.
