Start with the institution and its committee

If you are considering me for a board, a short note explaining the institution, its regulators and the committee you have in mind is the best start. I will want to know early whether it is a depository institution, because that determines what my bank's counsel must review before we talk in detail. Please do not send examination reports, customer data or confidential filings at this stage; a general description of the data or reporting question the board faces is enough. I remain Kellanbrook Bank's chief data officer, and any appointment depends on my employer's consent and a review of our vendor and correspondent relationships. I am glad to speak with a chair or a retained search adviser. Questions about Kellanbrook's own loans, reports or customers should go to the bank through its usual channels, not to me personally.
